Abstract
In geophysical prospecting, different techniques such as gravimetric, magnetic, electric, seismic, and georadar can be used to characterize the subsurface. This study obtained data from a vertical electric sounding carried out in the area and compared it to a magnetic survey of the same location. The purpose of the study in this area was to identify, analyze and compare the results of these characterizations. With the data obtained, two- and three-dimensional maps of thickness and isoresistivity were elaborated; using these, the resistive variations of the subsurface could be pointed out in each layer, as well as visualizing the geometric changes in these layers, correlating this information with any anomaly present. Likewise, maps of unitary transversal resistance were elaborated as qualitative tools for defining areas with better conditions for their exploitation, since the saline content of waters lodged in these sediments can be determined. From the results obtained, it was observed that both techniques coincide in the search for geological anomalies. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of each technique were determined.
