Topochemical transformation of enargite into copper oxide by hypochlorite leaching

Abstract

The topochemical transformation of enargite into copper oxide, by hypochlorite leaching was discussed. A proposed electrochemical mechanism and a surface study by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was also discussed. The analysis suggested the use of leaching process for removal of arsenic from copper concentrates containing enargite.
