Abstract

Craving can be defined as the intense desire to introduce a substance in the body within an addiction. With the recent appearance of communication technologies in smartphones, it became necessary to research on the problematic use of them, which is a behavioral addiction. A three steps study was designed. First, 46 items were wrote based on a model previously proposed; second, 9 interviews were conducted to complement the theoretical information; and third, a massive data collection to assess the psychometric properties. The three dimensions obtained reproduced partially the model proposed previously. Appropriated psychometric properties were obtained to be used in general population. Clinical uses and further research for it use are discussed.
