Abstract

The Scale for the Assessment of Developmental Assets in the Neighborhood (EEAB) has shown adequate levels of validity and reliability for use in Spain; however, there is still no evidence for its use in Chile. This research had 2 objectives: to adapt and validate the EEAB and to analyze the factorial equivalence across men and women in a sample of Chilean adolescents. Sample comprised 841 students (53.50% women) with an average age of 16.05 years (SD = 1.41). Results showed the EEAB to have a 5 factor-related structure. The degree of invariance obtained across men and women was scalar invariance. These results imply that the EEAB can be used in Chilean educational contexts with slight modifications to the original version.
