Abstract

This paper aims to interrogate phenomenologically the paradox of the vocation: this means that it is received and the same time decided. In order to reveal the paradox, which constitutes the vocation, in what follows, we will examine the appealing and “evential” character of things itself. A conceptual delimitation and differentiation of this double character could allow better understand which subject is the one that is given for itself in the vocation and what really is its significance of this fundamental experience. Finally, this study attempts to conceive the vocation as a care experience in the sense of restlessness, attention and occupation.
