Fundamentos y concepción de la Educación Preescolar en el sistema educativo cubano.

Abstract

The problem that has given rise to this paper is the epistemological tension between the speed to produce results of applied pedagogical research and its transfer in the initial training of teachers, in the current process of improvement of the Cuban preschool education system. This work analyses general historical features of Preschool Education, which facilitates the understanding of the educational models that serve as general theoretical foundation of this level and support for the attention of children up to approximately the age of 6. The concept of Preschool Education is analysed as a subsystem of the Ministry of Education from the legal framework that sustains i t, the guiding principles and the aim of this level, its organization and the peculiarities of the curriculum in process of improvement. In its construction research methods were used which, from a dialectical materialism approach, allowed for structuring the constructed generalizations.
