Keywords: Learning difficulties, sensory processing

Abstract

It is established that sensory difficulties are associated with neurodevelopmental disorders including ASD, ADHD, and DCD (eg see references 1-3). However, despite some promising studies (see ref. 4-6) the evidence has not being well-established for SpLD. Sensory processing is central to adaptive behaviour and for general development. Knowing the sensory profile of an individual with SpLD will improve on our understanding about how his/her sensory experiences may shape his/her behaviour and response to learning. The aims of this study were to:• examine the sensory processing profile of children and adults with background of learning disorders.
