Abstract

Specific learning difficulties are the most prevalent group of neurodevelopmental disorders that affect children and continue during adulthood. Earlier research has found evidence of sensory processing difficulties associated with learning difficulties (LD)(1). The characterisation of such sensory needs would help to understand the heterogeneity and variety in the LD manifestation. However, despite some promising studies, the evidence has not been well established (eg 2-3). This study aimed to examine the sensory processing profile of children, adolescents, and adults with LD, based on Dunn’s Sensory Processing framework (4). The second aim was to explore the association between the sensory profile and learning skills, assessed by the Colorado Learning Difficulties Questionnaire (CLDQ) reading and math domains (5).
