Elicitation of preference and shared decision making in breast cancer screening programs
Abstract
Breast Cancer (BC) screening programs have expanded in Spain during the 1990s due to scientific evidence suggesting that screening significantly reduces mortality. However, it is important to have in mind that screening might be misleading in some cases (overdiagnoses, false positives and false negatives). This situation generates some disagreements between health professionals and a uncertainty context, for this case is recommended to apply SDM model
