Abstract

Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) at work are on the rise, and their potential benefits for employees and organizations are becoming clearer (Good et al. 2016). Despite this interest and surge of high-quality evidence, there is still a significant gap differentiating the effects that different protocols may have, and the specific advantages for each different protocol remain still to be cleared. The aim of this study is to shed some light upon the different effects on work-related outcomes between one of the most popular MBIs, that is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR, Kabat-Zin, 1990), and Mindfulness-Based Strength Practice (MBSP, Niemiec, 2006), a program that integrates mindfulness with the use and cultivation of character strengths. Specifically, to distinguish between different program effects on facets of mindfulness, dimensions of subjective wellbeing, work engagement, perceived stress, and performance.
