The real mysticism of identity in the modern individual

Fuster Sanchez, Nicolas

Abstract

This paper seeks to develop a philosophical reflection on the possible relationship between the notion of identity and contemporary forms of government. Considering a brief analysis of the main developments of the concept, it is sought to stress the field of common understanding and raise the question of a certain way that identity this can be thought of as an epistemological-ethical gear regarding the ways in which individuals are called to be named and recognized within the limits imposed by a political cartography. The thesis this paper argues is that the category of modern individual is not sustainable without an attachment to an order of the names that tends to selfgovernment based on the appeal of an ethical ideal of correspondence to himself.
