Abstract

The controversy surrounding the figure of Pinochet and his representation in the public space has taken different forms during the last decade. The failed exhibition "Children of Liberty" of the National Historical Museum of May 2018 was the most recent impact of this debate. For many historians, the phenomenon can only be understood by analyzing the national and international effect of Pinochet's image in recent history, and one of the most effective ways of doing this is through the analysis of the graphic representation of the dictator in the cartoons of political press.
