Abstract

This article presents the experience of using a portfolio in initial teacher training as a toolfor the development and evaluation of competences in Pedagogy students of the Facultyof Education of the Catholic University of Temuco.It describes the experience of implementing an online portfolio, an alternative to thepaper portfolio, that permits the students to show varied experiences of their performancein diverse and authentic contexts, based on a constant reflexive process oriented by a setof criteria that shape the Standards of Performance for the Initial Formation of Teachers(Ministerio de Educación, 2001).
