Long Non-coding RNAs in the regulation of the immune response and trained immunity
Keywords: immune response, gene regulation, long non-coding RNAs, trained immunity, epigenetic.
Abstract
The induction of an immune response requires the use of various elements, as well as the formation of dynamic networks of interaction between them and their environment. On a molecular level, the view is relatively similar, the sum of the interactions between the components that regulate a cell's transcriptional program, defines its identity and finally its function. While many components are involved in coordinating gene expression, a growing amount evidence seems to demonstrate that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) plays a key role in regulating this process.
