Abstract
The purpose of this work is to analyze the functioning dynamics of the Chilean literary market during the 19th century, paying special attention to all those technical, aesthetic, institutional, political and educational elements that activated it. To do this, using Pierre Bourdieu's theory of fields as methodological tools, the data of the lawyers, the printing presses, the transformation of the writing subjects and the emergence of circuits and specific formations of circulation of new knowledge about the literary production.
