Abstract

This study addresses the most relevant facts of the Argentine history that impacted national universities. The objective is to analyze the milestones that influenced their autonomy and forms of government, contributing to the understanding of the current institutional situation. The documentary research shows the impact produced on university institutions by the student movement of 1918, the changes of government and the consolidation of autonomy after the return to democracy in 1983
