Abstract

Paradiplomatic activities in South America have acquired an important number of successful experiences. In the case of their practices within unitary States, as in Chile, their results have been disparate depending on the region analyzed. This paper delves into the institutional aspects of the development of Chilean paradiplomacy, particularly addressing some of its transboundary dimensions. It is conjectured that the study of these paradiplomatic experiences allows, among other dimensions, to approach the international activism undertaken in border strips considering local groups as agents and historical actors in the formation of identities and territories.
