Single Chain Arrangements of FeIII Triangular Units with a Field Induced Dynamic Magnetic Response.
Abstract
Systems with slow relaxation of the magnetization like Single Chain Magnets (SCM), involves the interactions between magnetic centres through covalent bond, hydrogen bonds or pi-pi interactions. SCM with ionic interaction are not known up to date. In this work we present the structural and magnetic characterization of a family of three highly symmetric oxo centred FeIII complexes of formula, [Fe3O(CH3COO)6(CH3CONH2)3][MX4], where M = Fe, Ga and X = Cl, Br., which form an ionic chain arrangement through the c axis. Interestingly, the compounds form by the [FeCl4]- and [FeBr4]- present ac frequency dependency, while the system with the [GaCl4]- does not present this feature.
