Abstract
expressions like: Christ “our hope” or “Hope that saves”, referring to the Pauline expression: “in hope we were saved”, leads many to think that we speak about hope connected to an eschatological event (close to or far away from now), un-related to the person that is already being saved by this hope. This article propo-ses, on the one hand, a reflection about the theological virtue of hope embodied in the present, living in tension with the future. Here Jesus becomes a herme-neutic criterion, rule, ground and consummation of created reality and, on the other hand, encourages us to think what giving reason of that Hope means for Christian praxis.
