Abstract

The soundscape represents a new paradigmatic approach within Environmental Acoustics wich suggests that is not only needed to mitigate noise, but it is also necessary to understand the acoustic preferences and expectations of the community. One way to qualify urban soundscapes is through soundwalks. The type of soundwalk conducted in this work concerns a route taken by a group of participants while listening attentively to the acoustic environments. During the walk, they made stops in strategic environments. In each stop, participants answer a written questionnaire on the perception of the specific environment, while the researchers capture acoustic measurements, audio, video and photography of the current situation. This paper presents a soundwalk with stops in 4 different environments carried out in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
