Estudio cinético y termodinámico de la adsorción de iones Cd (II) mediante carbón obtenido a partir de bambú

Abstract

The activated carbons are used in industrial applications, among which stresses the elimination of pollutants. In this paper, we study the preparation of activated carbons from the use of bamboo as a precursor. The preparation is carried out through chemicals processes with phosphoric acid (1 and 0.6 mol / L) at different temperatures (800 to 600 C). The adsorbents obtained were evaluated by their ability to bleaching of methylene blue solutions. The chosen product is subjected to a series of chemical and physical tests for its characterization for use as sorbent for Cd2+ ions. From the kinetic point of view the process responds to the Elovich mechanism where the diffusional factor is decisive. The Freundlich model is satisfactory to explain the thermodynamics of the adsorptive process.
