Abstract

The present article analyzes the ethnic press of the twentieth century, which is regarded as a direct product of migration, to recreate the links between immigrants and the native country. We will refer to the founding of the Italian newspaper L’Italia Illustrata, published in Chile from 1896 to 1898. We will analyze the founding of the newspaper with the other Italian gazette active since 1891, highlighting the discrepancies perceived between these media. Later we will present some images published in L’Italia Illustrata, grouping them in 3 sections. Finally, we will state our conclusions
