Abstract

This text proposes to evaluate Chilean institutionality and its relationship with criticism related to notions of the sociology of criticism developed from the work of Luc Boltanski and Laurent Thévenot. Focussing on the facts relating to the foundation and constitution of the Republic during the nineteenth century, this work identifies during this period some elements, which, from an extended histo-rical perspective, revealed characteristic of the way in which institutional agree-ments are constructed in the country. With this political facts, he returns to the analytical concepts used to show their limits and possibilities in the understanding of the forms adopted by social agreements.
