Exercise stimulates autophagy by downregulation of NOX2 activity improving young and aged human skeletal muscle function

Objetivos: This proposal expects to potentiate exercise as a non-pharmacological therapy to improve healthy life expectancy in elderly through NOX2-autophagy regulation. Furthermore, we will characterize the novel cellular mechanisms by which NOX2 regulates autophagy in human skeletal muscle.
