Abstract

Simulation is defined as a technique that emulates real-life events in a controlled manner for educational, evaluation or research purposes. It has become increasingly common in health sciences, being used in teaching-learning processes or for evaluation or certification of health professionals. Nonetheless, design and data report quality vary greatly among simulation programs, making it difficult to establish comparisons and collect scientific evidence. This article reflects on the main aspects to consider when creating a simulation program, in the hope of helping to improve the quality of the evidence and education by means of clinical simulation.
