Abstract

Nowadays, a lot of the discarded containers at home end up in landfills or in natural environments, occupying a large volume in relation to their low weight, a portion of these containers belongs to the clamshell category, which is used for transport of fresh fruit of export or import, being in this class in particular precarious and difficult its compaction by the traditional user. Thus, the need to reverse this situation becomes imperative; delivering design solutions that allow for concrete actions. In parallel, the laws that govern in different countries commit some specific areas in the production process, where packaging represents an opportunity to contribute to generating sustainable production. The Eco-design applied to clamshell packaging, integrated into its design and manufacturing phase, it was carried out in reductions of up to 60% regarding its original volume, which will allow the traditional user to collapse the container on its own and intuitively at the moment of discarding it, contributing without a doubt to its quality of being recycled.
