LAW, SOVEREIGNTY AND BIOPOLITICS IN GIORGIO AGAMBEN: undifferentiated links of the same «Mobius strip»

Keywords: biopolitics, sovereignty, right, Agamben, Totalitarianism.

Abstract

This article aims to show how the undifferentiated treatment of the notions of Law, Sovereignty and Biopolitics established by the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, leads him to the dead end of interpreting the Law in terms of a «legal machine» that perpetuates itself. in the exercise of "pure violence." To account for this, the triple reduction of Law is exposed: first to sovereignty, then to biopolitics and, finally, to totalitarianism.
