Abstract

The morphology, chemistry and anatomy as well as distribution and ecology of Parmelia borreri, P stictica, P subrudecta and P. ulophylla in Switzerland are discussed. A key, and a distribution map for Switzerland are presented for each species. Parmelia utophylla is confirmed to be a separate taxon from P. subrudecta. The differences (ecology and pycnidiospore length) between P. stictica and P borreri are highlighted.
