El mundo se resquebraja. La percepción chilena de las revoluciones de Europa Oriental de 1989

Keywords: Revolución, europa oriental, Chile., 1989

Abstract

This paper analyzes the perception of the Eastern European revolutions of 1989 through the Chilean press, in the context of the process of political change that Chile was experiencing at that time. The research relies on the critical review of various contemporary media: newspapers, magazines, and written testimonials, which allow us to approximate the impact produced in the public sphere, political actors and the media. The 1989 revolutions led to the fall of communist governments in various European countries, which consequently had repercussions on the end of the Cold War and the Soviet Union.
