The expression of experience: Making it explicit for the curriculum in health sciences
Abstract
This work constitutes a proposal to: 1. Collaborate with the expression of professional experience, and 2. incorporate the cognitive content generated by such experience into the curricula in health sciences. In order to collaborate with the expression of professional knowledge, it is proposed to carry out a set of case studies, based on reflective practice as an epistemological and methodological resource, plus a considerable variety of strategies (such as non-participant observation, reflective notebook and registration forms, as well as incidental and in-depth interviews). Figure 1. Expression of experience: a curriculum orientation (own elaboration) 1. The initial curriculum 2. Experience in expression 3. Feedback between practice and the theory. The figure above represents professional practice containing a tacit knowledge dimensión, which can be expressed through reflective practice. This contextual and transformed knowledge can inform most, if not all, the curriculum components: purpose, content, evaluation and methods
