Magnetic and martensitic transformations in Ni48Co2Mn35In15 melt-spun ribbons
Abstract
As-solidified Ni48Co2Mn35In15 ribbons were prepared through the melt-spinning method, and their structural, magnetic, magnetocaloric properties, and martensitic transformations were investigated. The inverse martensitic transformation temperature (T-A= 325 K) for the melt spun ribbons shifted by 55 K to higher temperature relative to that of the bulk material (T-A = 270 K). Theworking temperature range of the magnetic entropy change (Delta S-M) in Ni48Co2Mn35In15 ribbons has been significantly expanded relative to that of bulk. The roles of the magnetostructural transitions on the magneto-responsive properties of the ribbons are discussed. (c) 2018 Author(s).
