Abstract

Cette communication fait partie de notre recherche actuelle sur les rapports sociaux et les chants profanes des Ayoreo du Chaco boréal paraguayen. Nous avons montré que l’organisation sociale chez les Ayoreo n’est pas fondée sur des règles et des structures sociales rigides, mais sur l’évaluation morale des interactions domestiques quotidiennes, où le discours structuré joue un rôle central. Dans le présent travail, nous décrivons un chant biographique d’amour irade comme version altérée d’une dispute pojnaquei et nous expliquons pourquoi cette « altération contrôlée » se rapporte à l’éthique ayoreo de la convivialité, dans laquelle le concept de jnusietigai (« nostalgie ») est fondamental. Nous suggérons que le chant est une « traduction intralinguistique » de l’évènement rapporté, vu que la composition poétique reformule, contient et paraphrase l’interaction originelle. This paper stems from my current research on social relations and profane songs among the Ayoreo from the Northern Paraguayan Chaco. I have shown that social organization among the Ayoreo is not based on rules and rigid social structures, but on the moral evaluation of everyday domestic interactions, where patterned speech plays a central role. In this opportunity I address a biographical love song ‘irade’ as an intentionally distorted account of a dispute ‘pojnaquei’, and explain why this ‘controlled distortion’ is related to the Ayoreo ethics of conviviality, where the concept of jnusietigai (‘nostalgia’) is fundamental. I suggest that the song is an ‘intralingual translation’ of the reported event, given the fact that the poetic composition reformulates, contains and paraphrases the original interaction.
