Dulcinea encadenada: A New Latin-American Cervantine Creation

Faundez Carreno, Tania

Abstract

In the present article we examine the character of Dulcinea and her aestheticization in the nonconformist play Dulcinea encadenada (Chained Dulcinea), by Chilean author Rodrigo Faúndez, performed by the group Teatro del Nuevo Mundo. Moreover, we break down the creative process behind the play's production, from the director-researcher's perspective, based on a qualitative method (notes, direction and photography proposals) in order to broaden the study of the dramatic discourse.
