Abstract

The article aims to analyze the political paradigm shift associated with the performance of social movement in democracy. The student movement of 2006 in Chile presents a political profile that has broader social goals than the ones bounded in the demand for a change of political regime. This implies convergence and confrontation with the institutionalized political actors. Thus have different interpretations and solutions on social inequality, in the case study are reflected in public policy education, and that inevitably cross the assessment of post-dictatorship democratic consolidation.
