Abstract

The following document describes from the perspective of its authors, the main characteristics of the University Maker Space and the benefits they have had at a scientific and social level in developed countries. The scarce available literature accounts for an emerging topic with great potential for the development of innovative thinking in academia and entrepreneurship in the professional field of nursing. Maker laboratories emerge in the field of nursing in magnetic hospitals in 2015. Their activity has led to changes in the creative thinking of nursing professionals and other health professionals who have been favored with a space dedicated to exploring, designing and Build new processes and products. The possibility of experimenting, concentrating ideas and collaborating interdisciplinarily, allows entering the global digital network with access to expert opinions and finding solutions to common problems related to human care. It is concluded that the implementation of a Maker Nurse in the academy, could expand nursing interventions, challenging the traditional way of finding solutions to the problems of daily practice and benefit from global knowledge. This model of technological laboratories would also favor the research- development-innovation component of R+D+I in the profession, contributing to transformational and disruptive thinking by proposing substantial changes in care, advancing on the path towards the formalization of new roles and Stimulating professional entrepreneurship.
