Abstract

A QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM FOR A UNIVERSITY FIELDOFTHE INVENTION The present disclosure relates to a quality assurance system for university. In more details, a system of university applies diverse self assessment and self-regulation mechanisms that allow it to provide feedback and make the necessary adjustments to its standards, processes, procedures, actions, and indicators BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The quality assurance system is a result of the accreditation process and an opportunity in which it was observed the need to systematize the different processes and mechanisms of quality assurance at the university in order to evaluate its results and integrate procedures and mechanisms of permanent improvement over time, already incorporated in the duties and the essence of the quality management at the university. Its conceptualization is based using as the central axis, the Mission and Purposes of the University. Similarly, its conceptualization has been guided by diverse sources i.e. Institutional Strategic Development Plan, the Quality Assurance Policy of University, the observations made by the National Accreditation Commission, both derived from the creation of new criteria and accreditation standards, and the experiences and lessons learned from the different accreditation processes, specialized publications about quality assurance in higher education, and finally, the conceptualization was guided by the lessons learned and good practices resulting from the implementation of certification of processes and areas, under quality requirements derived from ISO Standard. On the other hand, it has taken into account the crucial contributions of external consultants with renewed trajectory and specialization, such as the Interuniversity Centre of Development. Finally, it has been considered the experiences obtained from the participation of the university in networks and forums specialized in quality management, and the Quality Assurance Network of the Corporation of Private Universities. In the view of the forgoing discussion, it is clearly portrayed that there is a need to have a quality assurance system for university.
