Diseño curricular: un esfuerzo de diez años de una red de universidades en Chile
Abstract
The objective of this research study is to summarize the process and achievements attained during a ten-year effort to transform the computer engineering degree curriculum in Chile. This study describes the processes performed by the Universidad de Tarapacá de Arica, the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa MarÃa, and the Universidad de Concepción. A case-study methodology is applied. The results show that the projects developed and executed by this university network generated new curricular designs that are guided by competencies and that are based on projects, achieving the institutionalization of key processes. It is concluded that to successfully perform projects of this nature and size requires integrated work by higher education institutions and governmental resources and support.
