Trastorno por Déficit Atencional e Hiperactividad en adultos: Una revisión sistemática de abordajes terapéuticos

Johanna Kreither

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is characterized by difficulties in maintaining attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. Research has focused on studying this phenomenon in children, so there is little literature about what happens with adults with ADHD, this being an emerging field. This article presents a systematic review to determine what evidence-based therapy (EBT) criteria have been used in studies of therapeutic approaches to ADHD in adults over the past five years. Twenty-Two articles were analyzed according to proposed TBE criteria in the literature. The studies found are heterogeneous in their characteristics, but in general they evidence the use of scientific standards such as the use of inclusion and exclusion criteria, systematized techniques, use of standardized measures and specify the expected behavior. There are high quality studies and others with aspects to be improved. Further research is required to provide better quality treatments than the current ones for people with ADHD.
