Abstract

In this chapter, we offer a collective reflection concerning our work as trainers of trainers, especially in a time of crisis like the one our country is experiencing. The awakening of Chile in October 2019 and the experience of the pandemic product of COVID-19 reconfigured the new social scenario in Chile. Based on our work as a team of researchers concerned about teacher education, we address the need to rethink the role of teachers in the construction of a new society. On the one hand, we take a journey to understand what the depoliticization of the teaching role and society has been, and, on the other, we approach the challenges that we envision in this postpandemic transformation process that goes hand in hand with a new constitution for Chile. Finally, we install some elements that we believe are essential to re-politicize teacher education.
