La esquematización como estrategia de comunicación visual para una grata experiencia de usuario: un análisis de las aplicaciones educativas virtuales

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to carry out the analysis of visual communication in virtual educational applications under the principle of schematization focused on a better user experience. The research was descriptive in nature. It is a documentary research based on the collection and selection of information from virtual educational applications considered as "html" documents, which were subjected to a content analysis technique. The study sample was intentional and was made up of 20 virtual educational applications selected under previously established criteria. The structured observation technique was used applying an observation guide as instrument. An observer triangulation method, applied by three experts in the area, was used for analysis and processing of data. The analysis of the results of the schematization category indicated that the learning management system of the analyzed sample does not satisfy the postulates of the theoretical bases of visual communication strategies. A general inefficiency was evidenced in each element that makes up the outlining strategy including information architecture, dichotomous organization criteria, multimedia elements and usability. The findings reflect the immediate need for a visual literacy process led mainly by design and education schools with the purpose of creating the basis for the design of virtual educational applications that generate a better user experience.
