Desvalorización de la profesión docente en Chile: capitalismo tardío y profesorado

Abstract

This text is a bibliographic review which analysed with the training of Chilean teachers from its beginnings and its foundational characteristics, until the dictatorial period. The aim of this document is to demonstrate that the devaluation of the teaching profession in Chile, together with the progressive process of educación depreciation in market societies, is the result of a violent imposition of large-scale capitalism in the country. For this, is shown how literature supports the social protagonism that teaching hold in the period before dictatorship and how dictatorial strategies end with the prestige of teaching in Chile through oppressive policies.
