Abstract

This chapter aims to deal with some key issues in the field of English pro- nunciation teaching, especially in Chile. It intends to discuss some essential elements which pronunciation teachers should consider in their own practice, as they should serve to establish the tenets of important decision-making pro- cesses in terms of an English pronunciation curriculum. Thus, we shall focus on some crucial factors such as models in pronunciation teaching, goals in pronunciation teaching, identity and accent, pronunciation assessment, teacher training and confidence in teaching pronunciation.
