Abstract

We propose to investigate whether variations exist in the needs of deaf and hard of hearing people who are sign language users with respect to user experience design for an automatic sign language recognition system, regardless of where he/she lives. The goal is to take a closer look at the human and context aspects in the interaction design lifecycle of an Automatic Sign Language Recognition (ASLR) system. From this proposal, we aim to contribute with the advancement of studies on cultural issues of user experience in several Latin American countries.
