Abstract

From the political rite of the charivari as a form of social protest, to the citizen expression of the empty pot during the social outbreak that began in October 2019 in Chile, this article aims to configure the role of the domestic object pot and its female bond, as forms of political protest. It wonders about the role played by the cacerolazo in current times, its forms expression and the symbol of the pot as a form of protest. Participating actor methodology is used. As sources, published sources, contemporary testimonies, press records and interviews are used. It is concluded that the pot in the street marks the beginning of profound sociopolitical changes, and that, far beyond its sonorous figuration, it symbolizes a feminine force linked to the way of making civilization and a complete life.
