Abstract

The trip of the “Easter Island Commission” in the Angamos Transport of the Chilean Navy in December 1946 to Rapa Nui, was composed of a variety of professionals, each one would develop a diagnosis of the life and avatars of the Rapanui people. One of its members, Hans Helfritz, photographer and renowned documentary maker of the time, cameraman of the DIC, had to make a graphic record of the island and its inhabitants. This book includes unpublished and colored images that he made more than 70 years ago.
