Model of speciation and solubility of sodium molybdate in water, 0-110( degrees)C
Abstract
Theoretical results on the speciation and solubility of the Na2MoO4 + H2O system in the temperature range of 0-110 degrees C were obtained. The procedure included a thermochemical equilibrium model incorporating the Pitzer's model, which was employed to calculate the activities of ionic species in solution using the hydrogeochemical code PHREEQC. Model simulations indicate that cations, anions, and neutral complexes coexisted in the studied system, where the predominant species were Na+, MoO42- and NaMoO4-. The calculated data were compared with experimental results reported in the literature, this comparison include water activity and solubility data, obtaining a good agreement between these.
