Abstract

The text analyzes the film « Arabin nights » (The Thousand and One Nights), by Portuguese filmmaker Miguel Gomes (2015), especially the first one of its three episodes, entitled “The resteless one”. The presentment of its time, then, does not consist in making reference to something external to the work pro-gress, but rather in the re-creation of the film itself. Such a “method,” so to speak, was dubbed the “Sherazade Principle,” adhering to the spirit of the film and the critical idea of origin as explained by Benjamin in Baroque drama
