Abstract

The Chilean food sector is the second most important export area after the mining industry. International trade agreements with more than 50 countries have opened markets to over two billion people. Under this scenario, Chile aims to become one of the ten main food exporters of the planet, a Food Power. It is already among the top twenty food exporters and, more importantly, one of the fastest growing food exporters in the world. The sector increases the value of its exports by one billion US dollars annually, and duplicated the export worth during the last decade
