Abstract

We present the results of an investigation about historical forms of mobility and territorial occupation-in the desert and the Atacama puna-enabled by the Sheepherding cycle in combination with trade trips or intercommunitarian arrierías. Firstly, we explain why we characterize this research as collaborative. Secondly, we give an account of the implemented methodology (organization of the work, sources of information, complementation), and finally, we bring an overview of the final results. The relevance of our investigation focuses on the contributions to the study relating to arrierías of complementation between Andean communities and the demonstration of the possible articulations between the objectives of the communities and those of the anthropology investigation.
