Abstract

Objective: to evaluate the perception of satisfaction of third-year obstetrics students who participated in the simulated scenario of partial exchange transfusion in newborns. Method: quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive study. The sample consisted of 116 third-year Obstetrics students who met the inclusion criteria and signed the informed consent. Student satisfaction was assessed through a survey adapted and validated by 5 experts. Results: In the "scenarios, resources and technical elements" dimension, 50% of participants "agreed" that the simulation scenario is similar to the real context. 100% of the students "very much agreed" that the teacher is trained to run the scenario. In the dimension "perception of teaching quality", 79.3% of the participants "very much agreed" that the simulation enhances teamwork. On the other hand, 73.3% "very much agree" that the simulation has helped them to integrate theory and practice and 72.4% "very much agree" that the interaction with the simulation will improve their clinical competence. Conclusion: Students positively valued the experience of participating in the high-fidelity scenario of partial exchange transfusion in newborns, showing a high degree of satisfaction. Conducting this type of experience in simulated scenarios and in a protected environment potentially benefits stu-dents and newborns.
